Disney isn't stupid

It's easy enough to compare the start up costs of RSNs vs paying billions and taking on billions in debt. Clearly they think the assets of the RSNs (mostly rights contracts) are worth it.
Most of these contracts have non-compete clauses. It will be interesting to see how that shakes out since Fox is retaining some sports properties.
I would guess that the BTN contract stipulates that the B1G gets 1st right to purchase FOX interest in the BTN.
